Big concrete pours in summer often run through the night, while it is cool — which means almost nobody but the crew ever sees one. This film shows a whole pour, from the first trucks to the finished slab.
It opens in the dark with the site lit up: a line of mixer trucks waiting their turn, pump booms reaching over the forms, and drone passes that show how much is happening at once. Between shots, the SteelRoot team talks on camera.
By the end the light has turned. The crew screeds and trowels the slab, saw-cuts the joints and finishes as the sun comes up — the part of the job a customer normally only sees the result of.
